Privacy Policy
Your life is in here. We treat it that way.
Effective October 2, 2026 · Private beta
- We use what you put in Grove to run Grove for you. That's it.
- No ads. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- When you use an AI feature, the relevant data is sent to an AI model to produce the result.
- We record which pages and features get used (not what you write) to decide what to build.
- You can wipe your data or delete your account yourself, anytime, from Settings.
Who we are
Grove is made by Syncopated Dynamics LLC, a California company ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Grove website and app. Questions or requests: the Feedback button inside Grove (a dedicated contact email is coming soon).
What we collect
Your account. Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), or your Google account email if you sign in with Google. Also your display name, timezone and app preferences.
What you put in Grove. Businesses, projects, tasks, goals, schedules, habits, journal entries, reflections, and anything else you choose to track. Depending on the sections you turn on, this can include sensitive things like health and weight logs, meals, workouts, finances (debts, bills, subscriptions), and gift ideas about other people. Only add what you're comfortable storing.
Photos and files you upload, such as meal, room, workout or inspiration images.
Calendar links you add. If you add a calendar (ICS) link, Grove's servers fetch it to show those events alongside your plan.
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, your email, which form you used, and your answers to the two optional questions (how many ventures you run and what describes you). To prevent spam we also keep a one-way hash of your network address for about a day, then clear it.
Usage events. When you're signed in, we record which page you opened (with any ids removed, e.g. "/projects/:id"), which AI feature you used, and milestones like finishing onboarding — each with a timestamp. We don't record what you type or what's on the page. These records are deleted after 180 days.
Error reports. If the app crashes, an error report (the error and the page address) is sent to our hosting provider so we can fix it.
How we use it
- To run Grove: store your data, plan your schedule, and show it back to you.
- To power the AI features you choose to use (see "AI & your data" below).
- To send account emails: invites, password resets, and important notices about the beta.
- To understand which features are used, so we keep what helps and cut what doesn't.
- To keep Grove secure and prevent abuse (for example, daily AI usage limits).
We don't sell your personal information, we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't show ads.
AI & your data
Grove's AI features include AI Prioritize, AI week planning (which schedules around your meetings and routines and splits time across your ventures), goal breakdowns, reflections, and health and meal analysis. They run only when you use them, by sending the data that feature needs to an AI model and returning the result. For example, planning your week sends your tasks, goals, routines, energy preferences and recent reflections; meal detection sends the meal photo.
These requests go to Google's Gemini models through Lovable's AI gateway. We send only what the feature needs, and we don't use your data to train AI models ourselves. Those providers process it under their own terms to return a result.
You choose what AI can see. In Settings you can exclude your Journal, Health, Meals and Finance data from AI, and Grove leaves those areas out of what it sends. If you never use an AI feature, nothing is sent.
AI output can be wrong. Treat health, financial and scheduling suggestions as suggestions, not professional advice, and review a plan before you rely on it.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf:
- Lovable (Lovable Cloud) — hosting, database, sign-in, file storage, sign-in emails, error monitoring, and the AI gateway.
- Google — Gemini AI models for AI features, and Google sign-in if you choose it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. If Grove is ever sold or merged, your data would transfer under this policy and we'd tell you first.
Your private calendar link
If you create a calendar feed link, anyone who has that link can see your Grove schedule — treat it like a password. We store only a fingerprint (hash) of it, so it can't be recovered from our database. You can replace it or turn it off anytime in Grove.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Database rules ensure each account can only access its own data, and sensitive tokens are stored as hashes. During the beta, accounts are invite-only. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as required by law.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. In Settings you can wipe all your data (your account stays) or delete your account, which removes your data, files and login. Deletion from our live systems happens right away; copies in our hosting provider's backups expire on their normal schedule.
Usage events are deleted after 180 days. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit almost everything directly in Grove, and download a copy of all your data anytime from Settings → Profile → Download my data. You can also ask us for a copy, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing the Feedback button inside Grove (a dedicated contact email is coming soon). We'll respond within 30 days and won't treat you differently for asking.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access, correct and delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
If you're outside the United States, your data is processed in the U.S. You may have additional rights under your local law; contact us and we'll help.
Children
Grove isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
Grove is in beta and this policy may change as it grows. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
