Beta Terms of Service
The ground rules for the Grove beta.
Effective October 2, 2026
- Grove is in beta: free for now, still changing, and it may have bugs.
- Your data is yours. We only use it to run Grove for you.
- AI suggestions are suggestions — not medical, financial or legal advice.
- Be decent: don't abuse the service or try to break into it (report security issues instead).
- If the beta ends, you'll get at least 30 days' notice to get your data.
Agreeing to these terms
Grove is provided by Syncopated Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Grove, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Grove.
The beta
- Access is by invitation. Your invite is for you — please don't share your account.
- Grove is free during the beta. We may introduce paid plans later; we'll tell you before anything you use starts costing money, and you'll never be charged without choosing to pay.
- Features may change, move, or be removed, and there may be bugs or downtime. AI features have daily usage limits.
- We may end the beta. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to get a copy of your data.
Your account
You must be at least 16 to use Grove. Keep your password safe and tell us at the Feedback button inside Grove (a dedicated contact email is coming soon) if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.
Your content
You own what you put into Grove. You give us permission to store, process, display and transmit it only as needed to run Grove for you — including sending it to our service providers, like the AI models behind AI features, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of your content and don't use it for advertising.
Please only add information you have the right to store, and be thoughtful about details concerning other people (for example, in gift ideas or journal entries).
Acceptable use
Don't use Grove to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- store or send malware, spam, or abusive content;
- access other people's data, bypass usage limits or security controls, or overload the service;
- scrape, copy, resell, or reverse-engineer Grove, or use it to build a competing product.
Found a security issue? We welcome good-faith reports at the Feedback button inside Grove (a dedicated contact email is coming soon). Test only against your own account and data, don't access anyone else's information, and give us reasonable time to fix it before sharing details. We won't pursue action against research done in good faith under these rules.
AI features
Grove uses AI to plan, prioritize and summarize. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Grove isn't a doctor, financial advisor, lawyer or therapist, and its suggestions — including anything about health, meals, weight, money or scheduling — aren't professional advice. Use your own judgment, and talk to a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
Feedback
We love feedback. If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Grove without owing you anything for them.
Ending things
You can stop using Grove and delete your account anytime in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk; where reasonable, we'll tell you why first.
Disclaimers
Grove is a beta and is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise Grove will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own copies of anything critical.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Syncopated Dynamics LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Grove. Our total liability for any claim relating to Grove is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Grove grows. For meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Grove after that means you accept the new terms.
